Neuvirth is seeking out a full-time qualified Utility Foreman to install sanitary, storm, & water piping on civil and private projects.

Requirements

Required Skills:
  • Experience running sewer/water crews
  • Highschool Education
  • Ability to read stakes, set up lasers, and understand percent of slope
Preferred Skills:
  • Operate all equipment so you can help train operators under your control.
  • Handle excavations up to 35vf deep
  • Excavate in trench boxes up to 20vf deep
  • Manage rehab water and sewer main projects

Responsibilities

Job Duties
  • Understand the plans and specifications for the job you are in charge of.
  • Know the Job Schedule and critical completion dates.
  • Verify the Dig Ticket be familiar with the markings and handle all of the locators. Keep the Dig Ticket # on site and available.
  • Notify office immediately if you hit a utility. Take pictures of the markings around the hit and any damage that was done.
  • Verify the staking is completed. Protect all stakes
  • Work with inspector and communicate all conversations with the Supervisor. Also keep conversations documented in your daily logbook.
  • Maintain all barricading.
  • Verify fuel is on site and place orders with the office. Acquire the proper PO’s.
  • Verify all material deliveries and count the parts delivered.
  • Notify Supervisor of any mistakes.
    • Daily Duties
      • Communicate with your crew and give them the plan and their tasks. Make sure each member knows what to do the night before so everyone can start the day on time.
      • Make sure everyone is there and working at start time, (not pulling in or putting shoes on at start time).
      • Keep crew on task, issue a task that best suits each employee and do not keep switching their tasks throughout the day.
      • Fill out the Daily Task Plan sheet provided. Think 2 days ahead and make sure you have what you need so there are no emergency deliveries needed. Send this sheet to Supervisor daily.
      • Do not leave job site to pick up tools or parts unless approved by the Supervisor.
      • Enter daily progress and needed information into your daily logbook
  • Expectations
    • Daily
      • Be on site 15 minutes before start time.
      • Make sure equipment is started and container is open before start time so employees can start their job on time and proceed with the tasks                     for them the night before.
      • Keep jumper cables and ether on site at all times.
      • Communicate with Supervisor.
      • Ensure all PPE is being worn by the crew throughout the day.
      • Verify anyone going into a confined space has tripod, lifeline and harness on.
    • Daily/Weekly
      • Present the Toolbox topic sheet to the crew and have them sign it and deliver to the office.
      • Inspect site and verify all tools have been picked up and are put in container and the container has been locked properly.
      • No tools are to be taken home in the Foreman’s truck without authorization from the Supervisor.
